Our Technology
we have been developing PV projects in European markets and we have several PV projects in the pipeline and under development. we expect robust growth in the coming years as PV is the perfect complimentary energy source to pump-hydro.
for rural areas, we promote a small capacity containerized off & on grid solution called REF off & on grid.
we are currently participating in an European development project for windmill systems for small households with capacities up to 15 kW. we expect to be market ready with this invention by 2025.
larger windmills > 1 MW are like PVs the perfect complimentary energy source to pump-hydro and are always part of our hybrid concepts, if average wind speed is well above 3 m/s.
hydro is our prime renewable energy technology. Austria is home of more than 20 high quality turbine producers and we are very well connected for years with this industry. we have our own engineering capabilities to engineer a hydro or pump-hydro plant from the intake to the grid interconnection (water to wire).
pump-hydro is our clear focus, as storage of energy in excess is the biggest issue today. we are currently developing several hybrid sites in europe and south east asia, where pump-hydro is the core of the energy concept.
the most economic storage is still the elevated water in the dam. also battery energy storage systems will increasingly contribute to the stabilize and secure the grid. and we are seriously considering gravity and kinetic energy-based storage solutions to be part of future REF energy concepts.
